Nollywood actor, Olaniyi ‘Sanyeri’ Afonja has revealed the hurdles he
faced before making it to the top.
Many may think that the popular Yoruba actor was born with a silver
spoon but it was not so for Olaniyi whose story is a pathetic one. He
revealed that at a point in time in his life, he had to become a mobile
cobbler to make ends meet because after acting those days he will not
be paid.
According to him, people like patronizing the Ghanaians cobblers
because they feel they do better jobs so because of that he would
always cover his face to conceal his tribal mark.
He noted that he had to quit the job when he realized that it was
affecting his career as an actor.
In other to survive he had to take to repair peoples shoe a craft which
he leant when he was in Oyo state. He would put his materials in a
wooden box, place it on his shoulder and start hitting it ashe walked
the length and breadth of Idumota.”
